The RINA-JET Dryers allow the instantaneous (flash), automatic, and continuous drying of wet solids, suspensions and solutions. The RINA JET system combines the effects of turbulence and vacuum with the displacement of wet and dispersed solid particlesat high speed, in order to obtaininstantaneouslya dry disintegrated solid.
The RINA flash drying system is most suitable for drying inorganic and organic products. The main feature is the delivery of the processed product at its original particle size which makes unnecessary any subsequent milling.
The RINA-JET Dryers provide a high thermal efficiency at low operational cost since all applied energy is for drying only. The short residence time (a fraction of a second) of the solid into the dryer favours its minimum heating thus making the RINA-JET Dryer the perfect drying technique for thermo-sensitive products. Alsoa drying process at higher temperature level (upto 700 ºC) is possible.

The head fan blows either air or inert gas at low pressure into a direct or indirect heating system - depending on the application or the product in process. The hot air (or inert gas) is blown into the Drying Chamber (the RINA-JET itself) where it gets in contact with the product to be dried, favoring its disaggregation. The product feeding is controlled (dosed) by an atomizer nozzleassisted by a pump in case if the drying system is applied for suspensions or solutions. In case of wet solid feeding a conveyor or belt or alveolar valve is used instead introducing the wet product by venturi. The RINA-JET Dryers can dry any product regardless its physical appearance.
With the disaggregation and acceleration at inlet and the jets inserting hot fluidenergy on the bottom part of the RINA JET our system achieves a double effect: the vacuum due to the speed of the product particles inside, and the increase of the contact or transfer surface for evaporation. All that causing an intense drying action with the minimum heating of the solid.
In addition to the drying a classification of the particles is accomplished as well. This is due to the centrifugal effect caused by the toroidal (ring) designtogether with the control of the suction (rear fan). The wettest and/or still agglomerated particles are re-directed to the chamber, whilst the disaggregated and dried product is led to the air-dust separation elements - Cyclone (optional) and Automatic Filter.
The RINA-JET thermal drying system is designed to control the process parameters by means of automatic settings of the feed rate to ensure constantevaporation and homogenous remaining moisture level at the previously determined temperature level (Tº).
As mentioned before, the RINA-JET Dryers can run with either direct or indirect heating systems coming from different energy sources (liquid or gas fuel, vapor, electricity, thermal oil, heat from cogeneration plants, and others). Additionally it is possible to recover the latent heat of the wet air at the Turbo-dryer outlet as well as the solvents recovery. In this case the system is operated as a closed circuit.
For those applications that require reducing the turbulence inside the RINAJET system, RIERA NADEU SA has conceived a specific equipment, the R-type (Rocket/straight) RINA-JET. The RINA JET “R” version reduces the changes of the flow direction of the particles inside and provides a less turbulent drying process.
